Drum-type structure: The core is a slowly rotating, jacketed cylindrical drum. The material is lifted and rolled forward through the action of gravity or internal baffles (blades) within the drum for transportation. Counter-flow cooling principle: Cold air (usually drawn in from the bottom or side by a fan) flows through the material layer in the opposite direction to the material's forward movement (typically from the discharge end to the feed end). This counter-flow design enables the hot material to come into contact with the cold air, resulting in higher heat exchange efficiency and better cooling effect, with more uniform and continuous operation.
Continuous operation: Materials are continuously fed into one end of the drum, roll and cool within the drum while moving forward, and are then continuously discharged from the other end. It is suitable for large-scale continuous production.
Handling various materials: By adjusting parameters such as drum rotation speed, inclination angle (for some models), air volume, and air pressure, the GLQ series drum coolers can be adapted to various temperature materials produced after granulation, extrusion, or oil extraction in the feed processing industry, such as granulated materials, expanded materials, extruded materials, tablet materials, etc. Additionally, it can be widely used in various industries such as grains, food, chemicals, and sugar for cooling treatment of materials that require cooling. The output range is wide: Drum coolers come in various specifications and sizes, from small to super large, to meet the capacity requirements of different scales.
Parameters adjustable: Usually equipped with a frequency converter to regulate the drum rotation speed and air volume of the fan, making it convenient to optimize and adjust according to actual production needs (output, particle characteristics, environmental temperature and humidity) to achieve the best cooling effect and energy efficiency ratio. Central non-axis design, the drum's weight is evenly distributed on two pairs of rollers, with stronger bearing capacity and lower failure rate.
